Having been led by God’s Spirit to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our only and sufficient Savior, and having been baptized, under the profession of faith, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we ourselves unanimously decided as a body in Christ, solemnly and joyfully affirm, in the presence of God and this congregation, the following Pact:
We commit ourselves, helped by the Holy Spirit, to always walk united in Christian love; to work so that this church might grow in the knowledge of His Word, in holiness, in mutual comfort and in spirituality; to maintain its services, doctrines, ordinances and discipline; to liberally contribute to the sustenance of the ministry, to the expenses of the congregation, to the help of the poor and to the propagation of the Gospel unto all nations.
We commit ourselves as well to maintaining personal devotion, to avoid and condemn all vices, to religiously educate our children, to seek the salvation of all souls, beginning with our relatives, friends and acquaintances; to be correct in our transactions, faithful in our commitments and exemplary in our conduct; to be diligent in our secular work, to avoid distractions, defamation and anger, in everything to always look toward the expansion of the kingdom of our Savior.
Furthermore, we commit ourselves to care for one another; to remember one another in prayer; to mutually help one another in infirmities and necessities; to cultivate frank relationships and to use courtesy in treatment; to be ready to pardon offenses, seeking, as much as possible, to be at peace with all men.
Finally, we commit ourselves, when we leave this locality to another, to unite ourselves to another congregation of the same faith and order, in which we might observe the principles of the Word of God and the spirit of this Pact.
May the Lord bless and protect us so that we might be faithful and sincere until death.
